did you get a free ride after you already paid, too?

Totally.  Although our plane did not crash.

Well, isn't that nice?

Posner is nuts because of brilliance or radical ambiguity and circumlocution?

Yes.

i don't understand why this is a big deal.  i want to be at the top of my class.  is that too much to ask?

how can i prepare for legal writing?

I think you've done all the preparation you can. Just follow directions carefully, try to pin your instructor down on what they like to see, then spend entirely too much time on your paper. That worked well for me, I think.

Ha! Did you like memorize 1/2 of something that was well-written once?

[stuff]

Can I be your AR partner??!? I think I made a GREAT case for myself!

Haha. I'm waiting until the 24 hour application period is up. I'll keep you posted.  There are good consolation prizes in the event I don't pick you.

The kid is all about rhyming right now.  She doesn't normally quite get it, which is interesting (she confuses alliteration.)

But today, she asked in the bathroom "Poo rhymes with boo?"

That's one smart cookie!

Only partially related: http://www.greendaily.com/2007/12/29/dog-poop-now-recyclable/

I swear I didn't go looking for it, it just came up on digg.

I thought it was pretty when I drove through it, too. Bit too much Depeche Mode on all of the radio stations, though.

Was that recently?

You know, I think it's interesting that Depeche Mode hasn't really held up to the test of time. They were so well-liked back in the day. The Cure sure has, though. They're still very cool and the kids who like them at my daughter's school are almost kind of elite about it.

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/?last_story=/opinion/greenwald/2007/12/30/oligarchy/

It picks up after the * * * * *. Are more people realizing the U.S. is really an oligarchy now or have I just found the few who do?

Tough to say.  People have noted that power buys a lot for some time.
