US Visa Status
« on: January 04, 2007, 04:10:27 PM »
All right, I am finally sending out my apps to these American schools.
Some schools ask for your US visa information.
As a Canadian citizen you don't need a visa to visit the states for up to 6 months at a time. So what do I put?

I used to have the F-1 visa while studying at my American college, but I graduated in May. What is my visa status?

Thanks..

If you entered as an F-1, you're probably still an F-1. In any case, F1 kind of tells them what they want to know. You're not an H1-B or a refugee or some other complicated crap.

I thought F-1 expired after your duration of study. I know that you can stay for a year in the states even after graduation.. but

HOLY *&^% AM I screwed NOW?!!?!?!
I should've called my school's International Students' Office :(

Hmm. Perhaps the substance of my message didn't really transpire. Let's try it this way: they don't care. Really. Unless you're something truly strange - which F1 definitely is not - you're fine.
