It seems there are a lot of people here who have prior credit problems/questions. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and thought this might help. From the Federal Trade Commission:
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.LINK
I checked my credit today for unrelated reasons and found there was a lot of useful information, such as small ways to improve your credit and of course, your credit history. Getting the free look is easy and fast. All in all, it probably took me all of 15 minutes.
