j. walter weatherman.  arrested development.  "Pier Pressure" episode.  running joke: a father teaches his kids lessons using this one-armed man.  in order to instill the value, the father engineers for some kind of gruesome accident to occur whenever the kids misbehave, resulting in the loss of the man's fake arm and the use of lots of fake blood, all of which seems real in the children's initial panic.  for example, the children are taught not to yell on a boat.
