aww thank you. yeah i got my applications in relatively late due to a hectic mid-semester (things sent out late november/early december) so i'm actually really surprised to be hearing anything at all this early.

though i'm still sobbing over harvard -- went complete w/o a phonecall email, so i'm guessing i'm in the "You Suck" pile. Boo!

Just me or are the adcomms taking their sweet time this year? 

I was wondering the same thing.  Not sure if it is true - but if applications are down, maybe schools are waiting longer to get a better/bigger sense of their applicant pool?  I've applied to a couple schools where LSN data from last year indicates that they already began accepting, yet this year, no one has indicated a decision.

(mildly tangentially related Q -- i just found out that HLS is having a conference on something i've researched and would like to be my academic/law focus [islamic models of microfinance] in April, and i didn't even know they were getting big on this topic. is it way, way too early to pop over a brief e-mail saying how interested i am in the project? should i do so if i get held?)

My friend on a student admissions committee says her law school is making more decisions later this year. This is because of the new LSAT policies (and how they'll affect the rankings). They want to give the December retakers a chance before they fill up so much of their class like in previous years.

It sounds logical, and the source is reliable, so I believe it.
