I didn't really like the new Arcade Fire song, but oh well.

Them and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah kinda grew and fell off of me quick.

this is my list from the other thread.
haven't added anything to my computer at work,
but two songs that keep playing in my head, along with the voices, are don't let's start by they might be giants and landslide covered by smashing pumpkins.

my 2 favorite bands are jarsy of clay and third day,
so i won't expect too many people to appreciate my wacky list (though shanny likes jars of clay).

holy *&^%, jer!

my punk band did tfk and fm static covers -- seen both a bunch of times.  caught bleach's last show.  love seven places.  love sanctus real.  love plankeye.  and spoken's remake of time after time just blows me away.  day of fire's vocalist is a spitter, though.  ick.

my band opened for some people you might have heard of -- sidewalk slam, redline (now echocast),  hangnail, plumb.  few others i cant remember.

i've had a few of the bands you mentioned play for my events -- switchfoot before they got huge, all star united, fono.  the last time i took my youth group kids camping, the newsboys hung out at my campsite.

third day almost ran me over with their tour bus.

I was going to add something, but looks like tj beat me to it.

He forgot to include Mogwai, though.  And that one's crucial.

I'm also a fan of the Headphones.  They're nothing spectacular -- just kooky and catchy.

I second the Sigur Ros

I've been obsessed with the Black Keys lately, their raw guitar sound is very appealing.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are good.  The new CD is fine, though it's borderline pop.

Low is good slowcore

Boards of Canada are good.

Yes with the Boards of Canada!  The Books are sweet, as well.  Neither makes for the easiest listening all the time, though.  Boards are a little less complicated, I'd say.

Also, you should try Eisley.

Believe it or not, she's even snottier about obscure cult musicians than she is about obscure cult t.v. shows.

<---does not believe.

Swats?

among others.

:'(

I'm hurt.

To be fair, I certainly don't talk about it as much.  Usually because it dredges up painful conversations about my musically-gifted ex's and relatives that I'd rather not have.  TV, not so much.

I did forget Mogwai.

And your mention of the Headphones made me realize I also forgot the Microphones and the Walkmen.

For real.

Wee mogwai.  ;D

I think it's partly because it reminds me of my chillas.  (You know, Gremlins and whatnot.)

How is it that LSD has such a high percentage of well-read users, capable in discussion of the best of literature, philosophy, poetry, etc., but so few with musical interests rising above the prosaic?
