dc......dc......dc.......dc..... ;)

Tell Dean Richard to hook me up with FT...
I'm sure they will, but the when is the tough question. It makes sense for them to migrate PT(unwilling)->FT, and (waitlisted)->PT, but will that all happen post-deposit, or not unti later? My closest friend who goes there found out in AUGUST... she must have been the last accepted, I'm sure of it.

Yeah, well, I'm not putting down the second deposit. so they might want to hurry up.

Sometime in June, they haven't sent the letters out yet.

It's $800 this time, though.

I've been stashing away $200 at a time, almost there... ;)

First one was $200, I think. Due back in April.

Second deposits are due June 15, right?

$800 for the second one.

$800?  Ouch.  I could see paying $200 if you weren't sure, but $800 is a little steep.

I doubt the experience from prior years will help this cycle ... new dean of admissions with new policies, plus the significant impact the numerous full scholarship offers are going to have on their yield.  Just know that all of the top schools have, at some point or another, taken people right up until the end of august.  This may or may not happen at a particular school in a particular year ... there is really no "predicting" for waitlists.  It is not smart to put a whole lot of hope into a WL.

Should've waited to check the mail today!

They put the $800 alongside the year's semester's tuition charges and it made it look like I owed them $14k by June 15th *chokes*. Nope, just the $800.

Good question.... I'm thinking it was the second week... it wasn't the beginning of the month but she also got there in time for orientation which was on the 14th last year, I believe. I'd say she was the odd case, though -- most of the waitlist will move a lot earlier. Whoever declined the GW offer to open the seat for her obviously did so very late which is also unusual.

i obviously know that there really is no "predicting" for waitlists and waitlists function differently every year, etc. but i still would like to know the answer to the question i directed towards dcforlife just for my own amusement.
