UG Transfer - GPA questions
« on: December 29, 2006, 12:19:00 AM »
I transferred after my first semester. I had a great GPA at my initial institution (SLU) before I transferred to WashU. Will the LSAC amalgamate my two GPAs? Or are they each stated on their own? Thanks!

Also, how much does the quality of the undergrad institution matter to grad schools?

Amalgamated. Boalt Hall at UC Berkeley, for example, says: "Does your undergraduate school make a big difference in getting accepted?

The rigor of individual undergraduate schools and majors are taken into consideration during the review process, but it is rare that a decision is affected solely by the school from which an applicant graduated. Boalt Hall is interested in considering human beings, not their schools. The GPA and LSAT alone are not dispositive."
