The GUN Thread!
« on: December 28, 2006, 02:00:15 PM »
I don't own a gun.  I never will.  I shot a sparrow with a bb gun when I was 12 and cried.

That said, target shooting is fun and I've grown up shooting guns (it's hard not to in a state where the 2nd Amemndment is considered more sacred than the Bible).

Anyway, how do you feel about guns?

Will you own one?  Do you own one?  Legislation?

I live in a country where guns are illegal.  I am perfectly fine with that.  I will never own a gun myself and believe that it causes more harm than good.  However, what works in one country can't always work in another, so I can't comment on the legislative impact in the US.

I don't really want a gun.

Maybe just some pepper spray..  or a big taser.

Yeah, that's why guns were on my mind. I went to a gun store and bought my wife some pepper spray for christmas (romantic?).

I'll probably own one in the distant future, I'll be like Bree in Desperate Housewives with the NRA membership (and this from a committed Democrat...I make my party ashamed at times!).  That said, I need to take shooting lessons...won't be hard to do in Montana, the 2nd Amendment's big here too!

are you going to get a "cute" one, or something with some real firepower?

Oh no cuteness when it comes to guns. I believe in keeping myself safe

a revolver is a good one for self defense.  not too complicated, small, and has some stopping power.

I think guns are pretty neat and strongly believe in an American's right to possess firearms.

As cool as I find guns, I don't see myself owning one since I'm so afraid it could be used against me or I might hurt someone or myself with an accidental discharge.  If I had money to burn, I might buy a pair of English army office cavalry pistols from the 1700s, though.

guns are for pussies.

This is where I want this thread to go.

Would you say gun owners are compensating?
