you can write an addendum to explain and schools will look at your grade trends.  In Montauk's book, a few adcoms were quoted as saying that if an applicant had say, a 2.0 in the first two years and then a 4.0 in their last two years ... that they would mostly consider the last years ...

but truthfully, I think your LSAC GPA matters a lot.  A school's ranking depends a lot on its 25/75%iles and that ranking = $$$ ...

he is worried because lsac counts the repeated class along with the grade he got the first time he took the class. Most schools don't count the old grade on your gpa if you do it again, but lsac does.  I had an E, and it took me down significantly.

Better than my school...only the first grade counts...for GPA and credit purposes.

this is kinna off the subject. but i took two courses that were supposed to be the start of a masters program. I got really sick and couldn't continue them, and it was too late to drop out. so there is a school out there, where i went for 7 weeks where i have two Fs. No other courses were taken.
is this something i should be worried about/ or need to report anywhere?

When you register for LSDAS, it will ask you to report all places you have attended/matriculated for any UG or grad work.  Then you have to send in a transcript.

Do they classify GPAs as UGPA and other? Which one do they take for the cumulative i have been hearing so much about?

Cumulative is all UG work only.  Master's (or other) GPA is for informational purposes only.
