18, when I went to college. I haven't been home for more than 3 weeks since, so I figure that counts.

I'm 20 and getting ready to move out by Feb 1st, to this trendy hood closer to my uni.

I know too many dependant 20 somethings that live at home still.

as do I. hell, I know plenty of 25+ year old people still living at home. but, short of EXTREME debt, that will NOT be me!

Same here. For a lot of people it has to do with cultural expectations as well, but I find a lot of those people are mentally dependant still on their parents as well.

true. although, I was surprised when I lived in Mexico at the level of independence and maturity demonstrated by my friends who lived at home well past 20 due to cultural norms, but clearly did not exhibit the traits of my stereotype of americans who live at home past 20
