Why do I want to go to law school...

I want to go to law school, yet I have precious little idea of what the work would be like, nor do I have a crusading cause to which I want to apply legal skills. I think that I would like law work, and could be good at it, but just saying that doesn't come across so well in the personal statement... so any suggestions on what to say?

Don't write a "Why law?" essay, then.  Those are generally boring even when people do know why.
