I'm with the jedi on this one. There's a pretty hot market for hedge funds these days, if you got a good chance at jumping on there you could do real well. And if it turns out it isn't for you in the long run, go back to school then. Do make sure it's a serious employer though, there's a lot of fishy firms trying to jump on the hedge bandwagon.

As a 1L...I vote hedge fund!

I worked for 5 years before law school and couldnt be more happy with that decision.  I got to save some money, make some great business contacts, develop a pretty resume...and most importantly take a mental break from studying.

There is no way I would have approached my law school education the same way if I had come here straight from undergrad...I would have been burnt out.

Hedge fund. You can always go to law school later, and have some experience in the business world. Plus who knows, you may like that job more.

Considering I wanted to go into corporate/securities law anyways, this would give me a huge background and resume boost for when/if I do decide to go to law school.

I haven't made a decision yet, but I'm leaning on putting law school on hold.
