Perhaps most minor-*seeming* topic yet
« on: August 31, 2004, 06:30:11 PM »
Tons of paper on my desk. Everything printed out (apart from the  app itself). I know no paperclips. But should we staple the ps together, or not? And the resume, if it's 2pgs long? I'm worried one of the pages will go missing! Are we supposed to attach these things to our files in any way? I bet a ton of stuff gets lost every year...

that sounds like a pretty major minor topic to me.

make sure your name and ss/lsac # is on everything, e.g. upper-right corner of each page of PS, and youll be ok

absolutely not.  you should just duck tape all of your documents together.

yeah, duck tape will work i suppose.  roll everything up in a ball and wrap it with the tape a few times.  it'll look good too :D

Montauk says def. no paperclips. They get lost and are annoying when you turn pages. I guess the consensus is: no attaching paper at all.
Thanks for your help and for not making me feel stupid for my question.

Montauk is not God, but neither am I.  I think the best way to handle it is to staple your PS if it's more than one page, make sure your name ss# and lsac# is on each page, I prefer the left, not sure why it would be on the right, not really an issue to me.  If your resume is more than one page (shame on you) staple that too, and make sure the name etc is on all pages.  If you have addendums, anything else that is more than one page, use the same method.  When you are done, get a good size paper clip and clip that sucker right in the middle of the top of everything.  Your cover letter should be the first document, the second document should be a table of contents(optional).
And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply" So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why. He said "You look like a fine outstanding young man, I think you'll do.  So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!"Sign, sign, everywhere a sign..

Swifty, you rock.
I'm not including a cover letter though. They know why they're getting the form!
