Well, I think they're really mocking Kerry, not wounded vets in general. 

Despite the fact that it's tongue-in-cheek Kerry-bashing (which one is to expect at a rival convention), it's certainly over-the-top and could be construed as offensive to vets.  I wish they wouldn't do it, but then again, delegates do what they want. 

I agree with you by and large on this one.  Bad taste.
