Umm... yeah, let's hope none of us needs to call Sokolov/Sockoloff/whatever or Hoya's firms.  Nothing personal, Hoya, but you know, don't want to have asbestos-related problems...

I'm pretty sure it's Sokolove.  My firm handled an IP thing for him, if I remember correctly.  Someone trying to defame him by creating a fake website using his name or something.

Damn, not even a combination of my two choices.  I gotta say I came up with Sokoloff probably because it's spelled similarly to my boss's last name (not that that's his last name, just that it ends with two F's).

You technically do not have any clients unless you are a lawyer or am I missing something.?  Using the words "my client" is arrogant, blatantly wrong, very naive,and I strongly suggest you do not use those words on your PS.  "The law firm I work for has a client who I helped negotiate a settlement in an asbestos related case."  Something like that.

sounds like a quasi-letter of recommendation to me, but a quasi-non-letter of recommendation at the same time.  maybe you can cut'n'paste it in the special awards sections of your applications.

Whether it's technically correct or not, that is the terminology we use in my office (oops, I mean the office where the attorneys allow me to work).  Each paralegal is assigned certain cases that they are responsible for.  The attorneys do not have assigned cases, they work on all the cases as is necessary, so when differentiating clients, they are referred to as x's clients, x being the paralegal.  That's just the way our office works.  Your experiences may be different.  Either way, I would not be so arrogant as to use that term in my PS.  Besides, I decided about 8 posts ago that I wasn't using this letter anyway.
