Rolling admissions = Rolling acceptance letters?
« on: August 31, 2004, 12:05:05 PM »
It's probably a silly question, but if schools do "rolling admissions," do they also do "rolling decision letters," meaning they notify you as soon as the decision is made?  Or do they mail them in batches or all at once?  Not that it's really that important, I've just run out of other things to ponder today.

While there isn't a single all-encompasing answer, it seems like law schools send out aceptances in bundles.  However, the earlier you apply, the better chance that you have in being in one of these early "bundles."  Anyone have any different experiences?

Thanks and Gig 'Em,
Jason

From what it seems like when people post on this board, adn the little I looked around lsn.com, it seems like they generally go out in batches.

Batches, yes, but multiple batches.  Just to clarify.  I think this is what you were all saying, but it's not like one big batch the way they did with college (at least the ones I applied to).  So the earlier you applier, the earlier you hear back *generally.*  Even if you apply on September 1, a school can hold your application until they see more of their applicants, so you could still not get an answer until April or so.

No!  Not Ani DiFranco!

Death to bad music! >:(

Ani's lyrics may be alright at times, but her song structures and sense of chorus are WAYYYY underdeveloped!  She ought to craft better, more memorable melodies instead of trying to let her independent image float her career.  Lyrics aren't everything; and the instrumentation she uses is so homogeneous to boot!  I respect what she's done with Righteous Babe records from a business angle, but the music I'm not a fan of.

Although the "Fellow Workers" album she did with Utah Phillips was decent, just because it was so over-the-top in its blue-collar unionism.  Of course, that was just him narrating about strikes over an instrumental background, so her underdeveloped sense of melody wasn't an issue there.

Of course I'm a music snob... I write songs for a living, and instead of making a living off them by selling them I just play them in my bedroom.  So yeah... that's pretty much why I'm going to law school.  Being a music snob can only get you so far in life...

And I'll be quoting the sacred book of Cash in response:

While I'm getting screwed in my untouchable face, I hope you fall into a burning ring of fire.  And it burns, burns, burns, that ring of fire.  The ring of fire.
