questions about applying to Georgetown
« on: August 31, 2004, 01:28:27 PM »
Can someone please tell me if im missing something or adding something. Thank you.

If I apply to Georgetown ED, then I have to send:

application ELECTRONICALLY
75 dollar fee (via mail?)
1 Letter of recommendation (which Georgetown accesses from LSDAS, if its there)
resume (ELECTRONICALLY ?)
personal statement (ELECTRONICALLY ?)
addendum ELECTRONICALLY?
Early Descision contract
Deans certification  (do i need this or is this for students at Georgetown only???)

Is there anything else I need to send if im applying ED?
If im not applying ED then I have to send everything above, except ED contract. Is this the case?

Thank you very much.

i do not believe you need a deans cert.  all resume, addendums, etc, can be uploaded and submitted electronically.  you should be able to make payment electronically as well, it depends on whether their is a CC icon on LSACD

If there is a CC icon, that means you can ONLY pay by credit card, or so I thought.

And yes, you can attach your resume, PS, and addendum electronically.

I'm too lazy to check the website to see whether you got all the right components, but maybe you should do that :)

Can someone please tell me if im missing something or adding something. Thank you.

If I apply to Georgetown ED, then I have to send:

application ELECTRONICALLY correct
75 dollar fee (via mail?) must pay by credit card when submitting electronic app
1 Letter of recommendation (which Georgetown accesses from LSDAS, if its there) correct
resume (ELECTRONICALLY ?)correct
personal statement (ELECTRONICALLY ?)correct - can be attached electronically
addendum ELECTRONICALLY?correct - can be attached electronically
Early Descision contract correct, if you're applying ED
Deans certification  (do i need this or is this for students at Georgetown only???)This is only if you're a GU undergrad applying early assurance or applying to transfer to GULC.  Otherwise, no.

Is there anything else I need to send if im applying ED? No, just the contract
If im not applying ED then I have to send everything above, except ED contract. Is this the case? Yes, except the Dean's Cert

Thank you very much.

Yeah, sounds right to me from what I remember, but like Greeneqs I don't recall that Georgetown requires a Dean's letter from everyone... could be wrong on that.

I've been wondering about the payment options myself for the different schools.  But I am thinking about just filling all the stuff in online, then printing off all my applications and sending everything in via mail.  That way I don't have to obsess over details, and I can be sure everything physically gets to them.

In terms of payment, I'm paying by credit card for everything I can.  But I think that's because my sister pays my credit card bill until I pay her back, so it buys me time before I have to pay for it myself :)

I don't think she can afford a second sibling applying to law school :)
