Harvard v. Columbia, Chicago, NYU, or Penn with $$$$

Harvard.  I mean, it's Harvard?!  don't get me wrong, those other schools are all absolutely fantastic, but it's Harvard!

but then again...I couldnt get into any of them anyways! lol.

I would pick Columbia over Harvard, money or not. That being said, pinky does make a point; Harvard is Harvard.

i would pick NYU.

If you want uber-prestige and instant international recognition, then Harvard it is.

If living in the Big Apple is important to you and you want top-notch NYC connections, then Columbia or NYU.

If you want a small student body and daily interaction with Posner, then Chicago.

If you want to decrease the amount you take out in loans and you think you can benefit from Wharton, then Penn.

All the schools you mention offer a great legal education. I think it comes down to pure personal choice.

Based on my own recollection, I think over half of the people who get the Hamilton (full ride at Columbia) choose to go to Harvard.  A few go to Yale, and one or two will get an equivalent scholarship and go to NYU.

I'd pick chicago with $$$. But they seem to be stingy with scholarships even if you have high numbers.

The problem is that people are thinking about money as an abstract number, when they should be thinking about it as a concrete amount of time in a Biglaw sweatshop.

I'd probably pick Harvard, but 1) layman prestige is very important to me, and 2) I know I'm working biglaw, so paying back loans wouldn't be that big a deal anyway.
