I read somewhere on LSD a few weeks ago that some schools offer free admitted students visiting days?  I think they just reimburse you up to a certain amount.  Anyone ever heard of this or know any schools that do so?

Sometimes they'll offer to fly you out, other times you have to ask, and sometimes the school will just cover some expenses when you get there but not tell you about it beforehand. I have one classmate who got flown out to Pepperdine, and I've heard of other California schools doing it as well, but I can't remember which ones.

Two schools from the 2004-05 cycle do this that I remember: Berkeley and U of the Pacific - McGeorge.  I attended the McGeorge event free of charge which was nice.  I'm not sure if they still do it, though, since things change from year-to-year.  None of the others schools to which I was accepted offered to pay for my expenses.

Usually when they send out admitted day info, they'll include something about reimbursing you. It's definitely not something I'd ask about now because they may have a limited budget and won't know until it gets nearer to admitted students' day.

Penn will pay either up to $250 or $300 for you to visit if you're admitted. They're implementing a more improved travel subsidy program this year.
