complete, and early, what are my chances?
« on: November 01, 2006, 05:01:10 PM »
I completed my apps yesterday.

My numbers are 3.0, and highest lsat 150

Schools I applied to: Please let me know what you guys think my chances are.

A)- Chapman- for fall 2007, claims to still take average BUT looks strongly at higher
B) La Verne- Spring 2007 Still averages, no mention of higher prefernce
C) Western State- Spring 2007 Higher score if it is significantly higher
D) Whittier -Fall 2007 Takes higher score
E) Thomas Jefferson- Spring 2007 Claims to take higher score

Hoping for a much better result than last cycle where I had a lower lsat (146)and applied late after dec lsat. Any suggestions for any other schools in california?

At a lot of those schools, soft factors can do wonders. If you have leadership roles and whatnot is college, that will be a mojor plus. Also, depending on what your major is, they may be a little lienient on your lower GPA.

Whittier and Thomas Jefferson are definite targets.La Verne should be an acceptance. And I am not sure about the others. Chapman is definitely a reach. Good luck.

Thx, good to know I may have chances and options.  Chapman is a dream scenario for me. But I had to give it a shot.

I have soft factors. Lots of volunteer work, an 8 year work background, and a good Personal statement.

I added a g.p.a addendum that helps to explain my g.p.a. I had to take care of my family throughout college as my father was ill and I was working full time, sometimes 2 full time jobs as I was the sole family income.

I went to a respected undergrad. I had a reasonably challenging major as well.

According to Law School Stats:

Western State =  Target (69%ile)
Thomas Jefferson = Target (46%ile)
Whittier = Almost Target (39%ile)
Chapman = Reach (7%ile)

Sounds to me that you'll likely get into one of these guys. Maybe you should consider Pacific-McGeorge (9%ile), it's a reach, but you never know.

I haven't heard anything from any schools since I submitted my apps 10 days ago. I am very nervous that I won't get into any school this cycle. I am having nightmares because of it. It sucks.

Anyways, thought I would bump this thread for some more opinions. I have not visited a law site as positive and encouraging as this one. Every other site I have visited has made me feel inferior because of my lackluster numbers and they tell me I have no chance or a slim chance at any schools.

Goodluck to everyone on there apps,
