how is this for a PS topic?
« on: October 31, 2006, 09:37:28 AM »
I was thinking of writing about my immigration to the US (4.5 years ago), and how it changed my relationship with my parents. more specifically, I would talk about how I used to rely on their support, but when we came here they had to rely on me due to their lack of English proficiency. this, in turn, was a maturing experience, as I had to assist those who have always been at my side. this topic will also play against type, as I am going to law school straight out of undergrad, and therefore I may be considered young and inexperienced. what do you think?

Almost any topic works if it's done right.  As usual, this one has potential.  Just do it right.

MaraudingJ is correct. Just about anything could work, as long as it's well written. Maybe others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the trials and tribulations associated with immigration is a pretty popular PS topic.  But then again, if you feel most comfortable with this topic, go with it.
