Law School Discussion

Prof. doesn't really want to write the LOR b/c they think law school is a joke

foxnewssucks

Insists that I am wasting my time since most lawyers do nothing substantive and that I should apply to a philosophy program, wants to meet with me... should I just go elsewhere for LOR?

If you feel that despite his feelings about law school that he can write a decent rec then it might be ok. But I'd look elsewhere to see if there's someone better just in case. Just my 2 cents.

Not worth the risk to have this boozoo write your LOR for ls.  You only limited to 2 or 3 LORs, so find someone else if you can.  Unless your desperate, and have on other option, then by all means have him right you an LOR.

I have one person who is in the process and another to ask... so I was planning on this one being the #3 for UMich and if I get waitlisted at schools... I think I do need to get three in though... I can ask someone else, but he is an ass.

So lawyers don't do anything substantive but philosophers do?  WTF?

That's one place where poli sci does well.  They're very used to writing law school recs

You'd think that philosophy profs would be as well.
