i just read that ps in ivey's book.  i also think it blows and cannot comprehend how it was one of the few examples of good PSs she chose to include in her book.

i'm thinking about asking her in her vault.com column...

Maybe, but you don't learn anything about the writer except that he/she likes to read a lot of books and include his/her commentary of said books in a personal statement for a law school application.  It's boring.  And what's with the last sentence? "They rest now on my bookshelf, their pristine spines a lsting testament to the power of film."
