I probably could have written a DS. In fact, I did. After many PS drafts, which I thought were pretty good, I kept coming back to my DS and in the end decided that my DS told the full story pretty well. So I submitted my DS as my PS and have no regrets. It says everything I needed to say. I'm not a big fan of submitting extra essays if they're not expressly required. I love to write, so it isn't out of laziness-- I just want to keep the total package as concise and well-communicated as possible.

I guess that in the process of filling out these applications, I just wanted to keep it short and sweet so my message stayed intact.
