Specialties in schools and where to find them...
« on: October 12, 2006, 08:50:50 PM »
Hey all,

I'm wondering where do you find out what a law schools specialty is?  I am wanting to somewhat form my PS to each particular law school, but I am researching the websites and can't seem to find a specific strength? Does anyone know where to find them exactly, or else the areas of concentration for Georgetown, George Washington, UCLA, Loyola, Hastings?  Thanks! ???

Not all law schools have specialties. If they do, it should be in the admissions section under "programs, concentrations, clinics, centers" or something similar. Alternatively, any concentrations they offer should be noted in their on-line brochures. You could also look at the section on "student life/affairs" for info on other opportunities.

Those are all great ideas.  I'd also add that you could look at the professor bio's online if they are available to see what type of background and concentrations they have.
