Need help with PS topic
« on: August 25, 2004, 01:35:42 AM »
I've narrowed my ps topics to 1. A childhood obstacle that I overcame, and how that has changed me and 2. How my parents were immigrants and are political activists for an asian country and how that has affected me/ why I want to study law.  Which topic do you think I should write on? which do you think is a stronger topic? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

They way you've written suggests that you think 2 is more interesting.  Could you do both though?  Did #2 present a childhood obstacle.

The childhood obstacle was a genetic disorder that I was born with. Basically it was something that I was teased about ever since I was young, and because of that, my outlook on life as well as the way I do things are different.  Although it seems like I feel stronger about topic #2, I feel more passionate about topic#1 because it has affected me all my life.  However, I don't know which would be more interesting/appropriate to write about for law school.  What do you think?

Thanks for the responses so far guys.

Do both.
You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

what do you mean by do both? Tie them together? or write two separate statements?  Just wondering, can you write two personal statements for each school?

I meant using your #2 experience as the setting for overcoming an obstacle.  I didn't mean write two PS.  I don't think you can do that.
