Diagramming conditional statements...helpful or not?
« on: September 25, 2006, 11:54:58 PM »
For those people who have attempted or currently do diagram conditional statements and contrapositives, do you find this technique to be helpful or more time consuming than necessary?
Ex.

If you hit a glass with a hammer, the glass will break.  H -> B.
And the contropositive : If the glass is not broke, it was not hit with a hammer. -B -> -H

I'm more concerened with writing these out for logical reasoning more than games but does anyone find these particularly/extremely helpful for either or?
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, power hath descended forthfrom thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
