Cornell's "Why Cornell"

The little blurb you have to write for cornell - what to write? I cant think of anything not trite to put for this in 2 sentences. Or should this be a big typed out thing too? I already have a ps and ds

I'm planning on writing see attached and then having a separate paragraph, but only a paragraph because if they had wanted a longer answer( think Penn or Michigan) they would have made the question an optional essay.

Do you think "Because I love Ithaca and Cornell and would have loved to go here for undergrad but you waitlistdinged me you f-ing assholes" is a good answer?

Who can say?  Can't hurt.  This was the only "Why ____?" essay I did, and it was about how much I loved my time at Cornell for grad school and all of the professional connections I've maintained there.  I mean, I do a lot of consulting through/with the school and my old program flies me in every year to address the incoming graduate students at orientation.

Yeah.  Cornell was my first rejection.  So much for my moving essay.

I didn't write the "Why Michigan?" essay, and look where I am now.  Go figure.

I think they're more interested in a real connection you have with the area or something specific.  I don't think some BS answer is going to help or hurt you either way, since 90% will be BS.

random question but i thought Cornell's "Why Cornell" is actually supposed to be limited to the lines they provide you and not intended to be an essay, who is doing whole essays or just a line or two?
