Who you "know"

Who you "know"
« on: August 19, 2004, 01:37:50 PM »
Does this really matter?  In my situation, a Senator in Virginia is a very close friend of my family and has known me since I was a child.  Would his letter of recommendation carry more weight than a partner at my firm?  What do you guys think?

I am willing to pull all the strings I can to get in.  I know I will do exceptional in law school if given the chance, however, my LSAT practice scores have been pathetic.  I am taking the test in October.

Why not include both recommendations? If that's not possible, I would go with the Senator's rec.

If he's known you your entire life and will give you a personal recommendation?  The Senator.

I'm scared I might have to work in a law firm with you. I feel as if you may speak from experience.

Just kidding.

This is excellent news.

I tend to give under peer pressure. Or rather, just one peer's pressure.
