this has women a little behind in the top chunk of lsat scorers... it says when women were about 40% of applicants they were also about 40% of the top quarter of scorers, but as they got closer to 50% of applicants that other number didn't rise to the same extent.

and this is old, but it shows women as not represented in the top 10% of the class in proportion to actual number of women in the class

Hmmm - I wonder what the graph would like today.  Will definitely have to look into this tonight - thanks for the links Lexy.

sidenote: the fact woman were/are/will be higher proportions in graduate and professional programs is because they dont have the same pressure as males to get out and earn a paycheck, imfpo

By the way, has anyone else noticed that the first and last options on the poll are the same thing and that is no choice for that they are and should be?

I was about to say that too!  I hadn't seen this thread until now, since you just bumped it.  Ginatio, fix that!  The last one should be "The are, and should be."

Hi newbie!  Welcome to LSD :)

I think being DOWNY should count as URM status, given that there is only one DOWNY. Add 6 points to my LSAT, fuckers.

i was a little thrown. first i explained how jews weent URMs and then i explained that women weren't. i still dont know what she really meant though.

it'd be really funny if she meant jews.  if there's anything i've learned from my sister's experiences at two small LA law firms, it's that jews have majority status in the legal profession ;)
