just because i'm curious...
« on: February 08, 2004, 11:06:54 AM »
I have already filled out all of my apps for Fall 04.  I had a 153 and a 3.5 from a respected private liberal arts college in the northeast.  In addition, I have numerous extra-curriculars (captain of the football team, VP of fraternity, etc.)  What I want to know is if anyone can give me suggestions on where they think I should have applied so that I can compare them to where I did apply.  I know it's kind of besides the point now, but I am just curious.  Thanks!

Try lower tier 2, 3 and 4's. Especially in the west coast and midwest..law schools want students from all over the country... Of course, only if it works for you. Email me if you want some more suggestiosn...I had a 3.77 and a 155..so I am in your ball-park. Where did you apply? How many schools?
Good luck - Brie

I applied at a total of 12 schools:
Ohio Northern (accepted)
Widener (accepted)
New England (accepted)
Roger Williams (accepted)
Quinnipiac (no reply)
Duquesne (accepted)
Hofstra (waitlisted)
Syracuse (no reply)
Notre Dame (no reply)
DePaul (no reply)
Marquette (no reply)
Valparaiso (waitlisted)

Marquette is my first choice because of their sports law program.  Notre Dame is very unlikely for me, but I wanted to take at least one longshot.  After Marquette, Syracuse is my top choice followed by Duquesne, DePaul, and Hofstra.  The other schools were pretty much safety schools.  Where did you apply?

I'm an optimist. I would apply to a of couple "tier 1" schools. You would have to find the few schools that offer more flexibility on the numbers. That's assuming you have something interesting to say. This admissions season is crazy though. Even the low tier schools are picky. Anything under a 160 is a handicap these days, incredible.
