Take a bunch of people with OCD and poor reading and thinking skills who think that every substantive thread is an opportunity to compare the size of their dicks, and I think that you'll find that locking threads is sometimes necessary to keep them from degeneratiing into drivel.

Someone's cranky today.

What's to stop the kind of posts you don't like from occuring anyway, just slightly later? The best solution seems obvious; ignore posts you don't like and concentrate on those you do.
