Thanks flydog. I feel like I'm the reverse on these writing issues. Would someone with a journalism background have an advantage here? I'm writing my PS right now and having to "relearn" formal writing.

Journalism focuses on concise, exacting writing, so I would call it a leg up.  English/Humanities majors are at a disadvantage.

I'm an electrical engineer who just made law review from a write on competition, if that tells you anything.

I really don't want to make myself busier before school starts, but you have all been pretty convincing, and it looks like I'll be doing the program in a few weeks. At worst, it can't hurt, and at best I will be better at legal writing.

I'm selling my LEEWS, looking for $80 + shipping.  CDs, has all the diagrams and the primer (the primer has highlighting in it, and the binding is loose; the info and pages are all there, its just not built to last a very long time).  CDs are in great shape.  I bought it last august/september.

PM me if you're interested.

Likely not; but if the couple of people that PM'ed me fall through, I'll let you know.

Any difference in the editions of LEEWS? Does it matter if I buy the 5th edition for $45 as opposed to the 7th edition for $145?

Honestly, I don't see how that could be  a problem.  I just bought an old edition (for 65 though).

Ya I doubt there is much of a difference. I can't bring myself to spend the full $145 at the moment.

I'm doing LEEWS on CD a week before LS starts and then probably a refresher before exams.

That's what I'm planning on doing. Do those who have done the program & taken first year exams think this a good idea?
