1. Yes, accidentally.  Barf.
2. No.  I don't eat organ meats.
3. Yes, I think it's kind of gross and probably cruel, but this is not my primary objection to eating it.
4. Probably, but I was stopped already.

I really don't give a crap how it's made (and yes I know how it is made).

The bottom line though is, it tastes nasty... If it was at all tasty, I might condone it, but for now I am ambivalent...

1. I eat it a few times a year at fine restaurants. Ever tried it with a cherry port sauce? Yuuummmm...
2. Yes.
3. Yes, I just recently learned after my taste for foie gras was acquired.
4. Not really, although I now feel quilty about both the cholesterol and the treatment of the animals. I think that the widespread mistreatment of animals in factory farms is a bigger problem, and for the most part I only eat organic meat/dairy. Can't I have one vice?

Edit. I have never tried it but want to.
      I am not sure as to its cruelty. I am fine with meat and eating animals, but as far as I have read on Fois Grois, it seems quite brutal. I still plan to try it though. Definately with the cherry port sauce.

I can't imagine paying good money for something that sounds so gross.  Funny thing is, I realized after watching "Supersize Me" that humans can do a very similar thing to themselves by eating McDonalds.   :P

A former roommate of mine works at PETA now.  He spearheaded a lot of anti-foie-gras campaigns while we lived together.  Believe me, if there's anything I hate more its foie gras.  Not because it's cruel (it is) but I just don't want to f-ing hear about it anymore.  Seriously.  Don't eat it.  Don't talk about it.  Go away.

I have eaten it, I fully know how it is made, and I would and will eat it again. It's delicious, and, to be honest, those geese live a pretty decent life by goose standards. I don't see a real difference between foie gras and, say, ground beef.

Also, I don't understand people who spend lots of time protesting things like this. There are so many real problems in the world. Why do we see nonstop protests and social activism about geese being overfed, and not enough about, say, bonded child labor worldwide.
