Gas prices have actually been going down steadily in my area... they were $2+ awhile ago, but now they're around $1.85-1.95

We have an 8 cent tax break on our gas in Florida for the month of August.  Helps a little, but after August we get zapped again.

No, it has been going for the entire month.  Most likely an attempt to boost the local economy and encourage tourism in the state, both of which were damaged by the hurricane.

If gas ever gets that cheap again, I'll buy it by the barrel!! It's $2.59 now (8/2009) and last winter it hit $4!!!!

do you think hurricane charlie is going to affect the election?  i read an article that bush senior was late as a mofo getting help to floridians when hurricane andrew struck, and was penalized hard core by pissed off floridians who didn't get the aid they needed.  i noticed that bush has made reconstruction and aid a top priority in florida.
