Correct, it would be more accurate (from his perspective) if he said that he was someone "opposing an unjust (or incorrectly ruled) Supreme Court decision."

My point is that the law support abortion and this guy opposed it.

Roe v. Wade didn't enact a law allowing abortions, per se. it's up to congress or the states to enact law.

I've never actually read the case, but I always thought Roe v. Wade allowed people to *get* abortions and doctors to give them without fear of being accused of murder. I dunno. I'm probably wrong.

I think that most states do not have laws that allow abortion. In many states, a law that allowed abortions would probably not come close to passing in the legislature. BUT, the precedent of Roe V. Wade means that any law AGAINST abortion (in general, not partial-birth or anything like that) would be struck down. In this case, regardless of what you think about abortion, the Supreme Court, not the legislative branch, "legislated" abortion. The same thing might happen with gay marriage. The judicial branch has certainly drawn more and more powers away from the legislature over time.

yes, I'm using 'the law' in a general sense.


ZAP, civil disobedience is legit in my book.  This guy is just dishonest about it.


and as you point out his disobedience puts an undue burden on others.  That detracts greatly from the moral value of his actions.
