Lenovo T60
« on: June 25, 2006, 02:27:38 PM »
Anyone know anything about the Lenovo (IBM) T60?  Seton Hall recommends it for all Fall 2006 incoming students, so I'm pretty sure that's what I"m going to get.  Pretty good deal too...like $1300 something through Seton Hall.

Most laptop users will agree that the T60 is one of the best laptops around. Get it.

The Z series is the consumer line, so it has widescreen and some consumer controls (dvd controls, etc). It's also heavier than the T series laptops.

I'm about 90% sure I'm buying the z61t.  Anyone know how that battery life is on the z6x series?  Can one watch a 2 hour DVD on it (not like I'll have time during school ...)?

It'll depend on your screen size and brightness settings, although you should be able to have slightly more than 2 hours of battery life even with a 15in screen at maximum brightness, even with a 6 cell.

hey I think im getting the same laptop.. but what made u choose it over the T line?  ALso did u think about waiting for the new generation of processors to come out late july, early august so that the duo processor-based systems go down in price?

I think i'm going to get the z61t over the T60 because it seems to be the better bargin on the UMich Showcase.  The z61t you save about 500 dollars against the average retail price, while the T60 only about a 100.  The z61t is also 4.7lb vs 5.5lb of the T60, but the T60 has a 6 cell battery.  The z61t also has a three year warranty that I don't think the T60 has.
