i want to be a flipflop lawyer
« on: June 21, 2006, 10:44:31 PM »
I really hate shoes.  I don't mind a suit once in a while, but I prefer comfortable chinos and polo shirts if I'm going to dress up.  I can't wait to be my own boss and wear chill clothes and flipflops to work every day.

Anyone else?

hahaa I am just looking forward to more than 2 weeks of vacation a year, you know? And the money to pay for them. I actually like the idea of the suits... I think they are sexy :)

move to northern california. No one cares what the hell you wear here. i work in a law firm and it's shorts/jeans and flip flops all the way. The firm still manages to make plenty of money. You will have to dress up for court, regardless, but even the "dress suits" here are a little suspect compared to east coast sensibilities.

I used to have to wear a suit every day when I worked in Boston, and now I get annoyed when i have to wear real shoes.

I thought this thread was going to be about John Kerry.

and, i thought this thread was about george W. bush, the free-basing WMD himself.... protect or destroy? protect or destroy....he can't decide.

Work in a touristy area. My uncle is a businessman on Martha's Vineyard and he doesn't even own a suit. And on Key West khaki shorts and a polo shirt are considered business dress. I bet this holds true for other beach/vacation areas.
