Dawn French - I applied for dorm housing at University Square, but was placed in Talbott. Currently, I'm on the University Square waiting list, and considering off-campus housing. What's your situation?

Thanks for offering up some pointers -- I plan on driving around Newark to get a feel for the area. I have no idea how much apartments rent for near the school. Is stuff available near the campus at decent prices?

As far as the bullet-proof vests, that was a jab at the sheltered kiddes that write so lovingly about Newark at night. At present, I live in Harlem -- I have zero fear of Newark.

Consider looking for apts in Montclair.  Nice place, close to Newark, and you can find a nice apt for cheap.  You'd better have cash if you wanna live in Hoboken.

hoboken to rutgers newark is about 15-20 mins....   i'm from NJ so i know the cost of apartments around here, i know it'll be at least 1000 a month in hoboken, but i'm saving money anyways cause i was planning on spending 28k per year on tuition for MSU before i got into rutgers
