$1100 month expensive?

$1100 month expensive?

I most likely will be moving into a two bedroom apartment in Boston. It is $2200 amonth(1100 a person), how does this compare to the lving situation of others in the area?It is a gorgeous brownstone and seemed expensive at first, but after seeing what $1800 will get you, this seems like a deal. What do you think average utilities will be?

I would definitely ask the landlord and (better yet) current tenants what the utilities will be ... some of the brownstones with older heating systems can surprise you during the winter with extremely high utilities (heat can go as high as $200-300 a month and I've heard higher).  That being said, this could just be a very high end apartment and/or very close to  things.

If you're going to Suffolk, I would consider living in Cambridge on the red line.  You can get some amazing apartments for <$700 per person right on the T.

Depending on the area (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South End) that seems about average.  Utilities will be expensive, especially in the Winter, but its worth it.  Boston>>>>>>The other side of the river.

Anything over $350/month (utilities included) is too expensive... ;)

For reals.....anything more than 400 a month a bedroom is waaay too expensive. I can only afford 580 right now for a 2bed 2 bath trailer.
