Stephen Hawking: overrated or underrated?

Just saw an article about him in the NYTimes and it raised the question in my head--overrated or underrated?

Perhaps a Poll is in order.

Is there any way to add a poll instead of creating a new topic? I was more interested in stimulating some discussion though, but a poll wouldn't hurt.

Overated.
He is a great scientist, but lately he has been dabbling in Philosophy where he isnt as strong.
