For people that retake,
Do you wait until after retaking and getting a score to send the score report or can you send a report with your first score and they'll automatically send the second without having to pay for an extra report.

I agree, but wha I want to know is whether or not you have to send an additional report for an extra LSAT score or if they automatically send it out as an update to the previous file.

Did some resaerch:

From LSAC:
Why was more than one report sent to a law school?

After an initial (first time) report is sent to the law school, an update would be sent if additional transcript data, an LSAT score, or another letter of recommendation is added to your file. The status messages, Transcript, Score, or L#, identify the reason for the update.

My interpretation is that you'd have to order an additiona number of reports to handlethe extra requests.  Damn that blows.

They don't charge you for the "extra" report.  It is considered and "update".  I had this situation with a recommender who sent her letter in late.  They had to send an "updated" report to schools that had already recieved my initial incomplete report.

I think LORs are different because that address that on the FAQ page.

The official answer from lsac as emailed to me:

Updated reports that are sent automatically to include subsequently
received Letters of Recommendation, transcripts or new LSAT scores are
free of charge.
It is not necessary to purchase additional report or
to ask us to send them.
