I want to get married, but I don't know if I can actually stand being around one person 24/7 forever.

You'd be lucky if you spent 5 hours a day with them. One or both of you will be at work for most of the day.

marriage is ALL about adaptation to each other's needs

It's important to remember that there's a difference between what people say they think and what they actually think.

Wouldn't this cause the divorce rate to be much higher than it actually is?

id say it is higher, just not officially.  how many millions of couples stay together but arent really a couple anymore?

I think it would definitely be fun, but I seriously need my space.  I'm like a recluse.

yeah I totally think it could be fun, and I would like to someday get married. Of course, growing up in the separate homes of my parents who were married for over 25 years before divorce, this all goes against my own experience...
