seat deposits really hold your seat?
« on: June 07, 2006, 02:28:24 AM »
i got a general letter from my likely institution that they know that some students have committed to more than one school. Theyre asking for a final decsion but theres no threatening language in it. im guilty as charged but dont plan to make my final decision until a couple more weeks. Could I lose my spot even though Ive paid my deposit and gone through every other registration requirement?

As long as you do what they say, they can't take your seat away.  In fact, I think if you mistakenly admit someone, you have to let them come if they jump through the standard hoops.  As far as your situation, call the school.  Ask them what the final deadline is, and what happens if you miss it.  Also, what is the reason for delaying your decision for a number of weeks?  Are you still waiting on another school?
