you're black at yale and on law review. and you don't know why they want you?! come on Mo! and firms do yield protect too i think. so some of the lower-ranked places might have been like, hmm, she's not coming here. scratch. or they might have just wanted a different personality. i feel like some of the interviews i went on, if they were interviewing 2-3 black folks, i assumed that they were only going to call-back one. and at that point it seemed like it was just whichever one of us the interviewer "liked" the most. but thats just my (cynical) opinion. and i feel like dc is one of those places where lots of black people i-view so they can afford to be picky.

I somehow have that same distinct feeling. 

Although I like the new firm, there are only 2 sisters there, both associates, zero black partners, and I'm the only brother and the only black person in my entering class.  :P  Somebody get me Richard Sander!  I want to talk about these overpopulated-with-black-people firms he seems to think exist.
