If he would have denied it, there were all sorts of media reports and witnesses that would have come crawling out of the woodwork. Plus, the Homeland Security Director appointment is OBVIOUSLY corrupt. I think McGreevey had no other options, which makes him a coward, not a hero. If he was really concerned, he'd resign immediately and allow the electorate to pick his new successor.

Applies to politicians in states where they have NO chance of losing re-election. I just thought Gray Davis' re-election campaign was a good example.
