I can't speak to "alternative" energies, but I know that recycling is generally inefficient in terms of most "traditional" forms of energy, including those that are used to plant, grow and sustainably harvest trees and the molecular building blocks of other recyclables.So unless you think trees have souls, I'm not sure what there is to be concerned about BESIDES fossil fuels.
