I think a bigger problem is simply getting into school at that age--I was 19 when I first applied to a horde of schools, and got waitlisted almost across the board... when I frankly asked the admissions people what was up, they indicated that my age was a negatively contributing factor. They just like to see more life experience before law school... obviously, there are exceptions.

Even though I'm just a little older, the past admission cycle was very different, and I found myself staring at $$ offers from T14 schools. I'll be 21 when I start at UVA this fall, and am glad I had the extra time, as I got to do a range of things that I would have otherwise never gotten around to.
