Entertainment and Intellectual Property?
« on: May 16, 2006, 03:18:45 AM »
Can anyone list some schools for me?  I am a Recording Industry major and want to use that as much as possible as a foundation.

I need to be in an Entertainment center... NY, LA, etc

Long term goal: Own a management company! :)

Well there are the obvious ones: USC, Columbia, and UCLA.

As for more regional schools, I'd say

NY: Fordham and Cardozo (One of my old professors is a very successful lawyer for the Tribeca Film Center/DeNiro and she graduated from Cardozo.)

LA (I'm not too sure on LA ones... but I think): Loyola, Pepperdine, and Southwestern

But don't trust me on the LA ones. That's just what I've heard through the grapevine.

I'd recommend, if anything, looking into major entertainment firms in LA and NY and checking out where their present lawyers graduated from or where they do OCIs.

USC really is the best one though.

I'd vote for Columbia, because they own a record company as well.

Ironically, my undergrad DOES have it's own record label.
